Pampa ISD COVID-19 Update #25-April 14, 2020

Good evening Pampa ISD Students and Families,

We hope this message finds you staying healthy and warm!  This Panhandle weather is ever-changing.  I saw that we might get back into the ’60s this week.  This made me think about the ongoing joke I often hear about the weather conditions in the Panhandle---- “If you don’t like the weather, stick around, it will change soon.”   So true!

You know what else is true?  The people of the Panhandle are adaptableflexible, and resilient.  We understand how the “conditions” can change overnight and we are confident in our ability to handle those changes.  I am not just talking about the weather, friends.  We as Panhandle Texans understand that things happen, things change, and whatever the “conditions” are will most assuredly ---change.  We respond the same way in other “conditions” as well.  The Coronavirus is not the weather, but it has created “conditions” that are very different and we Panhandle Texans have handled this change like we always do--- by being adaptable, flexible, and resilient.

As I hear stories about individuals and groups in our community reaching out to connect with one another virtually or in a variety of ways while staying safe, I am inspired by the adaptability of the people in Pampa.  When I think of the work of our teachers, parents, and students collaborating as a team to ensure learning and support continue through remote opportunities, I am in awe of the flexibility of each one of these wonderful people.  Moreover, as I am reminded of the sacrifices so many of our health care workers, front-line workers, and first responders are making each day, I am grateful for the resilience of these amazing public servants.

We are so blessed!  I am so thankful for the #PampaPride that lives here and the multitude of ways in which our town demonstrates the adaptable, flexible, and resilient spirit of the Panhandle.  On behalf of the Pampa ISD, I want to say THANK YOU for being a community of purpose, passion and pride!

Below are a few updates and reminders about things going on this week in the Pampa ISD:
