Superintendent Larkin On Measures To Combat Bullying

Posted Date: 05/11/2021

Maintaining the safety and security of students is Pampa ISD’s highest priority. In an effort to prevent bullying from happening, we have multiple measures in place such as assemblies, announcements, poster campaigns for information and strategies, and education of our students, parents, and staff on how to report suspected bullying. If allegations of bullying are reported, we have a process for an investigation that includes interviews so that we may determine if the situation is in fact a bullying case. If we do find that bullying has occurred, we have a protocol that includes both consequences for the perpetrator and support for the victim. We implement stay-away agreements that engage the students, parents, staff, and even sometimes law enforcement. Of course, out of the respect for any student and their family, we never discuss particular situations or incidents as those are confidential. Because of this, we are unable to disclose the details of any alleged complaint. We encourage our students, parents, and teachers to report any concerns immediately to a counselor or administrator. We also have a reporting feature on our website.
