What is a VIP?

When we hear or see the letters V. I. P most of us think of “important” people who are valuable. Well, that is true, but it also means something more….something much more for Pampa ISD. Today we began our official launch of the Pampa ISD VIPS. Volunteers in Pampa Schools (VIPS). Our VIPS are more than just important people, they are the numerous individuals in our community, in our civic clubs, in our local businesses, and in our churches that care about the development and education of the students in Pampa Schools. We are calling on the people in our community to join us as we do the work of educating our youth intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically. Our most precious resources are the students we work with every day and the families we serve. Our common goal in Pampa is to have a strong, healthy, happy, and blessed community. Together, we can ensure that our community and its citizens prosper and are continually blessed.

VIPS is an intentional volunteer program that matches the needs of our students and families in PISD with the resources and supports people and systems in the community. The services range from providing snacks and good tidings to our staff, delivering school supplies to our campuses/students in need, providing services for families in need, reading to the students, helping with homework, allowing students to job-shadow, and even mentoring and internship opportunities. No service is too small to help our students and families know that they are valued and valuable. If you or your business, organization, or church are interested, please give us a call at 806-669-4700 and ask to speak with Jana Williamson or Sabrina East. We are eager to engage in this work as a community. We truly hope you join us on our journey to ensure that the students and families in Pampa ISD are safe, happy, healthy, and future-ready!!!
