Fire Threat Prompts Early Release at Pampa Junior High

The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority at Pampa ISD. As you are probably aware, there were several fires in adjacent counties on Wednesday afternoon. As part of our emergency procedures, we stayed in constant contact with our Fire Chief and other local authorities. We activated our emergency evacuation protocol and were poised and ready for an evacuation if needed. Thankfully, the fires were never an imminent threat to our students and staff, so no evacuation was necessary. However, due to concerns with smoke and visibility, we did release Pampa Junior High at 3:30 as recommended by the Fire Chief.
