Pampa High Band Earns Sweepstakes

The Pride of Pampa competed in the Region 1 Band Contest yesterday at Panhandle High School. They performed three pieces on stage in a concert setting. Their rendition of the “And the Antelope Play” was beautiful! Immediately after the concert, all 100 members went to the band hall for Sight Reading where the band received a piece of music that the band members had never seen before. In this contest the director, Dr. Kramer, gets to go over the music with the band for seven minutes. The students never get to play or discuss any part of the music. Dr. Kramer did an excellent job of preparing our students and our kids performed at a superior level!

All three judges gave the Pride of Pampa all perfect scores (1) in all areas. Our band walked away with the Sweepstakes trophy and represented Pampa High School, Pampa Independent School District, and the Pampa community with character, class, and honor.
