Pampa ISD Names New Athletic Director/Head Football Coach

Pampa ISD is excited to announce that the Pampa ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously in a special called meeting to hire Floyd White as the 2024-2025 Athletic Director/Head Football coach. Coach White is a proud honor graduate of Pampa High School and is excited to return to his alma mater.

Following his graduation from Pampa High School, Coach White received his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Master of Science in Health, Physical Education & Sports Administration from Eastern New Mexico University. He is certified in Composite Science, Life Science, and Physical Education. Coach White had a successful football career while at ENMU including Lone Star Conference South Champions.

Coach White has over 22 years of coaching experience, most of those years as a Defensive Coordinator, and the last two years as a Head Coach/Athletic Director. His experience has taken him to powerhouse programs such as Reagan High School in Austin, Monterey High School in Lubbock, Midland Lee High School in Midland, and several college coaching positions including Iowa State University. Currently, he is the Athletic Director and Head Football coach for Compass Academy in Odessa.

Coach White believes that “athletics embodies tremendous life lessons for all participants. Coaching has been an outlet to direct my passion for leading and developing student-athletes.”

We are excited to welcome Coach White, his wife, Amber, and sons Abraham, Christian, Kaleb, and Elijah to Pampa and we look forward to the future of our athletic programs under his leadership.
