PISD COVID-19 Update #13-Friday, March 27, 2020

Good Friday Evening Pampa Families,

This week has been like no other---for all of us!  Seeing the support and encouragement flowing through our Pampa community has been inspiring and has helped bring energy and hope back into our hearts.

Today was another fun day of serving our students and families.  We distributed more meals, devices, and many more instructional materials. And, it looked like everyone managed to have fun while social distancing!  Here is another short video we hope you will enjoy!

Distribution Day 2-A Message to Our Families

Below are some important updates/reminders and some new information you will not want to miss.

PISD HomeLearning Launch

We will be launching our new online learning portal for all K-12 students in Pampa ISD Sunday evening at 6:00pm!  We are so excited to share this with our students and families.  Our instructional leaders and teachers have been working extremely hard all week behind the scenes to prepare engaging and fun learning activities for you to enjoy in your homes.

Be looking for this information from your campus principal and teachers.  They will push out the link information through Class Dojo, Remind, Google Classroom, and Facebook Sunday night!

Technology Support/Devices

We distributed well over 1,500 devices this week and have more going out at the time I was drafting this communication.  Technology is a wonderful thing---until you have technical difficulties.  Knowing that it is not IF you have issues, but WHEN you have issues, we are ready to serve you.

If you need technical assistance or just have questions about instructional software, passwords, email addresses, or wifi, please use the contact information below.  We will also post this information on the Frequently Asked Questions tab on our Pampa ISD website.

If you still have questions, feel free to call our central administrative office at 669-4700 from 9:00am-1:00pm Monday-Friday and we will direct your questions to the right people.

Also, we are setting up technical assistance at the central Administration building (1233 North Hobart Street) on Monday and Thursday from 11:00am to 6:00pm.  You can drive by on the WEST side of the building and someone will come out to your car to assist you.

Facilities—CLOSED by Executive Order from the Governor

It saddens us, but ALL of our facilities are closed except for essential staff members.  This includes ALL of our athletic facilities.  We have locked and chained all fences and gates.  We understand that our students want to play on our football field and our tennis courts.  Believe me, we wish they could too.  However, we are under strict expectations from the State of Texas to close our facilities.  We respectfully ask you to NOT attempt to gain access to our facilities.  We have asked the Pampa Police Department to assist us in our compliance with this executive order.  We appreciate you helping us stay in compliance and do our very best to keep everyone healthy.

Yes, we are doing our part with social distancing and creating a “distance” learning platform.  Nevertheless, please know that we are not apart.  We are forever connected through the Harvester Spirit and we will get through this----together.  I believe that we can emerge from this crisis as a more caring, loving, and kinder people of Purpose, Passion, and PampaPride!

I hope you and your family have a wonderful weekend! Stay safe and healthy! #stayhomePampa
