Thank you Trustees!

Did you know that January is School Board Appreciation month?  All across the state of Texas, public schools are celebrating the men and women who serve selflessly to make tough decisions every day for the students and staff in more than 1100 districts.  Pampa ISD is blessed to have seven servant leaders who give of their time and energy every day to help us provide quality educational experiences to the children in Pampa schools. I am grateful to these community volunteers for their commitment and contributions. Trustees work countless hours to make public education the best it can be for every child in Pampa ISD.

With recent legislation, the Board has been busy learning new laws that impact every classroom, every teacher, and every student.  They develop policies and make tough decisions on complex educational issues that affect the entire community and the lives of individual students.  The work is important and these board members obviously care deeply about doing the right things for the rights reasons so that Pampa schools never cease to strive for excellence.  The new year, 2020, has brought us the opportunity to build a new Vision and Strategic Plan for Pampa schools and we will be inviting input and feedback from numerous stakeholders over the next several months.

Our School Board members are Richard Qualls, President who has served for 9 years.  Matt Brock, Vice President, has served for 8 years.  Cay Warner, Secretary who has served for 10 years.  Lance DeFever has served for 17 years.  Luis Nava, who has served for 5 years, Denise Intemann who has served for 2 years, and Dr. David Godino who is currently in his first year of service.

On January 23rd at 5:30 pm, we will celebrate our Board of Trustees with a special dinner prepared by our very own Culinary Arts students from Pampa High School.  Also, we will take a few moments at the beginning of the Board Meeting for each campus to show their appreciation for the work, the service, and the commitment our members give to our students and staff.  The next time you see one of these individuals, please thank them for the time and energy they give so that our schools will continue to improve our service to our students, staff, families, and community.  On behalf of the Pampa Independent School District students and staff, I am honored to say THANK YOU, TRUSTEES, PLEASE KNOW HOW MUCH WE APPRECIATE ALL THAT YOU DO!  Also, if you are interested in serving on a visioning and strategic planning committee, please feel free to contact us at 669-4700.  Have a blessed new year Pampa!
